Ha Giang – Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall 4 days

PRE- DEPARTUREDAY
If you travel from Hanoi or other destinations. You will travel on the van or bus in the afternoon or night sleeper bus, check-in our hotel in Ha Giang City for the night before starting the adventure on Day 1.

DAY 01: HA GIANG – QUAN BA – DONG VAN
Pick up from your hotel, you will begin the journey to Dong Van following a spectacular series of passes which wind through the mountains and valleys. Enroute you enjoy exception – all views of the rolling landscape and interesting flora and fauna. After that, we will have lunch in a small mountain town of Tam Son visiting the villages of Hmong, Pho Bang, Pho Cao. You will have a chance to see former palace of the Hmong King, Vuong Duc Chinh who was an ally of the French. There you will find an insight into the turbulent history of the Hmong in Vietnam. You will arrive in Dong Van where you will have dinner at local restaurant and spend the night at homestay. Overnight in Dong Van.

DAY 02: DONG VAN – LUNG CU FLAG TOWER – MA PI LENG PASS – NHO QUE RIVER – MEO VAC 

After breakfast at the homestay, say goodbye to your host and begin the journey to Lung Cu Flag Tower, the northernmost point of Vietnam. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of the Dong Van Karst Plateau and visit Lo Lo Chai Village, home to the Black Lo Lo ethnic community. Take time to explore the traditional village and learn about the local way of life. Return toward Dong Van for lunch before continuing along the legendary Happiness Road toward Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the most spectacular mountain passes in Vietnam. Stop at the viewpoints along the pass to admire the dramatic limestone mountains and the deep Nho Que River valley below. Continue to the Nho Que River pier and enjoy a boat trip through the spectacular Tu San Canyon, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. After the boat trip, continue to Meo Vac for check-in, dinner and overnight at your hotel/homestay.

DAY 03: MEO VAC – BAO LAC – 14 FLOORS PASS – ANGLE EYE MOUNTAIN (NUI THUNG)

After breakfast, depart Meo Vac and travel east toward Bao Lac, leaving the Dong Van Karst Plateau behind and entering the quieter mountain landscapes of Cao Bang Province. Upon arrival in Bao Lac, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing toward Khau Coc Cha Pass (Me Pia Pass), one of the most impressive mountain passes in northern Vietnam. The pass is famous for its dramatic series of hairpin bends climbing the mountainside. Take a short walk to the viewpoint for panoramic views of the pass and surrounding valleys. Continue toward the Trung Khanh/Quang Uyen area, passing through remote valleys and traditional villages along the way. In the afternoon, visit Nui Thung – Angel Eye Mountain, a remarkable limestone mountain featuring a large natural circular opening through its peak. Enjoy the peaceful scenery and take photographs of this unique landscape. After the visit, continue to Quang Uyen or Trung Khanh for check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 04: NGUOM NGAO CAVE – BAN GIOC WATERFALL  –  CAO BANG CITY – HANOI
After breakfast, you will set off to the district of Trung Khanh, close to Vietnam’s northern border with China. Here you will be introduced to the Nung people in the village of Phuoc Sen, a small village famous for the production of farming tools. Like the Tays, the Nungs largely live by farming the terraced rice paddies that you will see all around as you journey to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the breathtakingly majestic falls that demarcate the border between Vietnam and China. There will be time enjoy the view and soak up the sublime atmosphere of Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall before making your way to the Nguom Ngao “Tiger Cave” known for its wonderful limestone formations. Return to Cao Bang and back to Hanoi. End of services.
